VIEW FLYER HERE: Med-Term_flyer.pdf

Date: Saturday, December 8th, 2018

Time: 8:30am to 5:30pm

Is understanding the language and terminology used by healthcare professionals making you feel like a deer in headlights? You are not alone! Learning how to navigate medical terminology is like learning a whole other language. We can help!

This workshop will help interpreters understand the foundations of medical terminology, their structure and meaning. You will learn why diseases, conditions, and anatomical terms have the names they do and how they interrelate. In addition, you will learn how to use this knowledge to help you navigate complicated medical language before, during, and after your interpreting encounter. Although no one can learn medical terminology in a day, the program provides valuable continuing education for anyone who interprets in hospitals, health departments, clinics, and other healthcare settings.

This workshop is facilitated in English and is especially geared toward translators, interpreters and non-native English healthcare workers. It is language neutral; however, glossary references are available in Spanish.
